Proposal · Website design & development

A website for Linda Fruit, built to grow with the business.

This answers each question in your scope document, in the order you asked them. Four homepage concepts, a working brand guide and a full project record are already built and ready for you to look at — before you commit to anything.

Design & build

$1,000

One-time fixed fee. The initial seven-page site, designed and built.

First twelve months

$4,000

$1,000 build plus twelve months of retainer. No separate hosting invoice.

Your questions, answered

What you asked for

Your scope document closes with eight things to include in a proposal. Here they are in order, with nothing skipped.

01

Initial website design and development cost

$1,000, fixed. Not an estimate and not hourly — the number does not move if the work takes longer than we expect.

Covers the seven pages in your scope: Home, Our Fruit, About Us, Our Difference, News & Updates, Careers and Contact. Includes the WordPress theme build, modular sections, mobile layouts, the homepage video treatment, forms with inquiry routing, SEO foundation, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, and accessibility work to WCAG 2.2 AA.

02

Estimated timeline from kickoff through launch

Kickoff on approval. Home and About Us live by 28 August; the remaining five pages built by 5 October, matching the dates in your scope.

That schedule holds only if content and photography arrive in the next week — see the timeline section below, where we have set out exactly what it depends on and what the options are if something slips.

03

Number of design concepts and revision rounds included

Four homepage concepts — already built. Not sketches: four complete, clickable pages you can open right now.

Revisions are unlimited. We iterate until the design is right by you — not until a counter runs out.

In practice we usually settle on a direction within a few rounds. Having four real pages to react to tends to get there faster than describing options in a meeting. And after launch the question stops arising altogether, because continuing changes are exactly what the retainer covers — you will never hit a wall where one more tweak becomes a new invoice.

04

Content migration and loading included in scope

There is no old site to migrate, so nothing has to be moved. Loading your supplied content across all seven pages is included.

That means text, images, video, team bios, varieties, pack styles and job postings — entered, formatted and checked by us, not left for you. Writing new copy from scratch is not included, though a good deal of your brand pack is already usable as-is.

05

Hosting recommendations and annual costs

Hosting is included in the $250/month. No separate hosting bill, and no annual renewal to track.

Managed WordPress hosting provisioned and run by us: TLS certificate, daily off-site backups, a staging site for changes before they go live, caching and a CDN for page speed, and uptime monitoring. Sized for a marketing site with video; if traffic ever outgrows that, we tell you before anything changes.

06

Ongoing maintenance and support options, and hourly rates

$250/month covers hosting, maintenance and iterative development. One line, one invoice.

  • Platform care — WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, tested on staging first
  • Security — monitoring, hardening, and remediation if something is found
  • Backups — daily, off-site, with restores tested
  • Uptime monitoring — we find out before your customers do
  • Iterative development — content changes, new sections, new varieties, refinements as the business grows

Your staff can make routine updates themselves through the CMS. The retainer is for everything beyond that, and for the things you would rather not do.

Work outside the retainer — a new integration, an e-commerce build, anything in the not-included list — is quoted as a fixed fee before we start, or billed hourly at $100/hr if you would rather work that way. We will always tell you which before doing anything.

07

Third-party software, plug-ins or licensing costs

The build targets free and open-source components. We expect no license costs beyond your domain registration.

  • WordPress and the theme we build — no license fee, and the theme is yours
  • Plugins — free/open-source wherever they do the job. If a paid license ever becomes the right answer, we ask first and bill it at cost with no markup
  • Adobe Fonts — Recoleta Condensed, Avenir Next LT Pro and Gibson are already covered by your existing Creative Cloud subscription. We need a web-project kit ID from you; there is no additional cost
  • Google Search Console and Analytics 4 — free
  • Domain registrationalready done. We secured lindafruit.com and management of it has been transferred to Taylor Farms, so it sits with you rather than with us. Only the registrar's renewal remains, billed at cost
  • Stock photography or video — only if you decide to license any; not assumed

08

Items not included in the proposed scope

Stated plainly, so there are no surprises later.

  • Photography and video production — the shoot itself, art direction and editing. Every image and video slot in the concepts is labeled with the shot it needs, so your photographer has a brief
  • Copywriting — beyond arranging and lightly editing copy you supply or that already exists in your brand pack
  • Brand identity work — logo, palette and the outstanding script font decision sit with your brand designer
  • Translation or a bilingual site — worth discussing separately, and we have flagged why in the brand guide
  • HR platform or applicant-tracking integration — we will link out to one; a built integration is a separate piece of work
  • E-commerce, customer portals or grower log-ins
  • Paid advertising, SEO content campaigns and email marketing
  • Print collateral and packaging

Schedule

Timeline, and what it depends on

Your dates are achievable. They are also tight, and we would rather say so now than at the end of August.

  1. Already done · no charge

    Domain secured and handed over

lindafruit.com was registered by us and management transferred to Taylor Farms. It is in your hands before you have agreed to anything.

  2. Already done · no charge

Discovery, four concepts, brand guide, project record

Including a set of derived logo assets — a one-color version, a horizontal lockup and app icons — built from your vector logo.

  3. On approval

    Kickoff

You pick a direction. We confirm hosting, the font kit and inquiry routing, and start the build.

  4. Within one week of kickoff

    Content and photography needed

Leadership bios, varieties and pack styles, certifications, and the photo and video shoot. This is the one date that decides whether 28 August holds.

  5. 28 August 2026

    Home and About Us live

  6. 1 September 2026

    Your launch press release

The site is live and ready for the traffic the announcement brings.

  7. 5 October 2026

    Remaining five pages built

Our Fruit, Our Difference, News & Updates, Careers and Contact.

  8. Ongoing

    Continuous development under the retainer

Pears, further commodities, sustainability and grower content — added without rebuilding anything.

If content slips

There are two honest options, and the choice is yours:

  • Launch on schedule with clearly marked placeholder content, and swap in the real material as it arrives.
  • Move the live date, and the press release with it.

Either works. Deciding on 26 August does not. We will tell you which way it is heading well before then.

Ownership

All of it is yours

Linda Fruit keeps ownership and administrative access to the website, domain, hosting, analytics, content, design and source files, and any applicable licenses — exactly as your scope requires. We will confirm that in writing at kickoff rather than at handover. If you ever move to another provider, you take everything with you and we will help with the transfer.

The domain is the working example: we secured lindafruit.com and transferred management to Taylor Farms straight away, rather than holding it and calling it a service.

One thing to decide

How inquiries should route

Your scope names two paths — Customer Feedback and General Inquiries. Because growers are the primary audience, we would suggest two more: grower partnerships and sales/buyers, each going to the right person directly. Four paths, no extra cost. Tell us who should receive each.

Before you decide

Work you can look at today

We would rather show you than describe it. All of this exists, and none of it is billed unless you go ahead.

Four homepage concepts

Complete, clickable pages — not wireframes. Each takes a different structural approach to the same brand.

A working brand guide

Your brand pack assembled into one reference, with measured contrast ratios, plus the questions your brand designer still needs to answer.

A project record

Audiences, positioning, site map, requirements and every open decision with an owner against it.

Logo assets you did not have

A one-color version, a horizontal lockup and two app icons, derived from your vector logo without redrawing anything.

Two things we found in your brand pack

The palette page labels two different greens with the same hex code, and the primary green in the guide does not match the green drawn in the logo file. Neither is serious and both are easy to fix — we mention them because you will want your brand designer to correct the guide before anyone else builds from it.

Next step

Pick a direction and we will start.

Open the four concepts and tell us which one to build. If a different combination works better, say so — that is what the revision rounds are for. Once a direction is settled we will confirm the content list and get moving.

Review the concepts
